After the Collapse

When the apocalyptic event known as the spatial collapse occurred and the divine gods and their celestial realm were forcibly thrust into the industrial fantasy world below 65 years ago their mortal followers faced the toughest choice they’d ever make. While many saw no objection to being ruled directly by those they worshiped there were some who questioned the benevolence of their formerly invisible master’s motivations.

For even though the gods themselves were now mortal many maintained a certain otherworldly arrogance, a puritanical worldview and a desire for control. They quickly made pacts with whichever mortals would follow them and in little time the “Celestial Empire” was formed. An aggressive and expansive divine theocracy defended by an ever strengthening army of loyal followers and maintained by the vast and nightmarish departments of the so called ‘Angelic Bureaucracy’ that is slowly consuming all independent elements of the old world.

Overview: After the Collapse is a Queer Occult Industrial Fantasy tabletop roleplaying game about disheartened radicals trying to form communities, organize resistance and rebuild their lives in a rapidly industrializing world still recoiling from the aftermath of a failed rebellion against an all-consuming empire of the gods.

This is a game about the way people are reshaped by conflict and the bonds they share with friends and enemies alike as they work towards a personal sense of fulfillment. To some characters this may mean getting their revenge and leading a second revolt against the powers that wronged them while for others it might be resolving leftover tensions with family and community or escaping from their past and finding a way to settle down and move on.

Characters who never once imagined being resistance fighters or even some who once considered the Empire their home now mingle with persecuted witches and diehard revolutionaries in quiet corners, struggling together to make a life for themselves as the world continues to unravel in the aftermath of the rebellions failure. Whether you're from a community destroyed by the war, one that is next on the hit list or even someone from the Imperial core whose life has been distorted by the imperial bureaucracy there is always room for resistance and growth.
